Deactivating/activating ESP

WARNING
Under no circumstances should you deactivate ESP when the warning lamp in the instrument cluster ESP warning lamp in the instrument cluster flashes. Proceed as follows:
when driving off, apply as little throttle as possible.
while driving, ease up on the accelerator pedal.
adapt your speed to suit the prevailing road and weather conditions.
Failure to observe these guidelines could cause the vehicle to skid. ESP cannot prevent accidents resulting from excessive speed.

Press Start the engine.
or Press on the steering wheel or to select the Assist. menu. on the steering wheel to select the Assist. menu.
or Press the button to select or ESP. button to select ESP.
button. Press the To deactivate: press button.
again. To deactivate: press The  warning lamp in the instrument again.
The cluster comes on. warning lamp in the instrument cluster comes on.

WARNING
When the lit, ESP OFF warning lamp is lit, ESP is deactivated.
If the ESP OFF warning lamp remain lit, ESP warning lamp and the ESP is not available due to a malfunction. ESP OFF warning lamp remain lit, ESP is not available due to a malfunction.
When ESP is deactivated or not operational, vehicle stability in standard driving maneuvers is reduced.
Adapt your speed and driving to the prevailing road conditions and to the non-operating status of the ESP.

again. To activate: press The  warning lamp in the instrument again.
